TH: 骨芽細胞の分化を促進するヘリオキサンチン類縁体
骨再生医学により不可逆性骨欠損部の骨再生を行うために，低分子化合物により骨再生を促進する方法の開発が求められています。ヘリオキサンチンの類縁体であるTHは，大庭らにより初めて報告された骨芽細胞の分化を促進する低分子化合物です1)。THは，骨芽細胞前駆細胞の分化を促進するだけでなく，齧歯類骨欠損モデルにおいて骨再生を促進することが報告されています2,3)。さらに，マウス・ヒト多能性幹細胞4,5)や歯髄幹細胞6)から骨芽細胞への分化誘導においても，その効果が確認されています。
