Application
Tazobactam, A β-Lactamase Inhibitor for Antibiotics
Tazobactam and its sodium salt [T4106], β-lactamase inhibitors, are able to inhibit enzymes (β-lactamases) produced by bacteria that destroy β-lactam antibiotics like penicillins and cephalosporins. Therefore, it can increase antibacterial activity of antibiotics and also it can expend antibacterial spectrum and reduce adverse reaction, which has broad application prospect. Many combination agents with antibiotics have been developed against Pseudomonas aeruginosa or multidrug-resistant bacteria, such as MRSA. For your reference, related products (β-lactamase inhibitors for antibiotics) are sulbactam [S0868] and 3-aminophenylboronic acid [A1281].
