Coordination polymers (CPs) and metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), which are combined metal ions and organic ligand molecules, are among the most prolific research areas of inorganic chemistry and crystal engineering. 1,4-Bis[(1H-imidazol-1-yl)methyl]benzene, known as bix, is used for syntheses of CPs and MOFs as an organic ligand molecule.
