Nicholas等人报道了未活化芳烃的铜催化C-H酰胺化反应。结果显示，存在催化剂量的tetrakis(acetonitrile)copper(I) hexafluorophosphate和新亚铜试剂下，通过使用N-甲苯磺酸基氨基甲酸三氯乙酯为N-试剂，未活化芳烃发生C-H酰胺化反应生成相应的N-Troc芳香胺。该反应中，相比于苄基上的C-H键，反应更容易在芳环上的C-H上发生活化。因此，这个反应可以使烷基苯选择性发生反应生成相应的芳香胺。
