Application
N-Arachidonoyldopamine: An Endogenous Cannabinoid
N-Arachidonoyldopamine (NADA) is was first synthesized as a pharmacological tool to study the endogenous cannabinoid system (ECS).1) Later NADA and other N-acyldopamines were identified as endogenous cannabinoids in the mammalian nervous tissue.2,3) It has been reported that NADA acts as an agonist of the cannabinoid 1 (CB1) receptors.1-3) It is selective for CB1 over CB2 receptors. Furthermore, NADA also acts as an agonist of the transient receptor potential vanilloid type 1 (TRPV1) ion channel, also known as the capsaicin receptor.2,3) For your reference, the endogenous cannabinoid system (ECS) modulates neuronal and immune cell function, both of which play key roles in pain, therapeutics targeting this system hold promise as novel analgesics.3) (The product is for research purpose only.)
