TCI Life Science News October 2021
At TCI, we support discovery in the life sciences through our knowledge and expertise in organic small molecules. In this issue we focus on our oligosaccharide replacement of an antibody by using G2-peptide, fluorescent probe for detection, fluorescent organosilica particles, and the latest TCIMAIL. We also have thousands of other useful compounds available only at TCI for your research and development.

Oligosaccharide Replacement of an Antibody by using G2-peptideIt is known that the effector function of antibody drugs closely correlates the glycan structure of Fc region. As there are some reports that not only lack core fucose of N-glycan on the Fc region but also the β-galactose residues exposed at the non-reducing end shows significant effect in ADCC and CDC activities of antibody drugs, the G2 N-glycan is being focused. With the glycan remodeling strategy by Endo-M [A1651], TCI attempted conversion of glycosylation on Fc region of IgG into the specific glycan that showed high effector function. We also succeeded to transfer homogenous G2 N-glycans to antibodies lacking core fucose residue using G2-peptide [G0466] and Glycosynthase [G0365].

Fluorescent Probe for DetectionFluorescence imaging is an important research method in the field of life science. TCI offers many fluorescent probes which can be used for various experiments such as fluorescence staining, flow cytometry, fluorescent western blotting, and FLISA. Cell proliferation assay reagent [R0195] and dead cell staining dye [A3396] are also available. You can see application data and some fluorescence micrographs in our website.

Fluorescent Organosilica ParticlesVarious types of fluorescent dyes have been used to detect biomolecules. However they are not always suitable for observing them depending on their detection methods. Although fluorescent silica particles with enhanced fluorescence intensity have been used in the past, they are often large in diameter and difficult to control the size of the produced particles. TCI offers Organosilica FITC (100nm Diam.) [O0561] and Organosilica Rhodamine B (100nm Diam.) [O0573] which have a small and uniform particle size distribution and higher fluorescence intensity than conventional FITC or rhodamine B.
