Application
Lycopene: An Anti-Oxidative Carotenoid Found In Tomatoes and Processed Tomato Products
Lycopene, a non-provitamin A carotenoid, is found abundantly in tomatoes and processed tomato products and exhibits a strong antioxidant activity. Lycopene shows beneficial biological activities including antibiotic, anti-inflammatory, antioxidative, cardiovascular, and immunostimulating effects. In addition, it has been reported that tomatoes and tomato-based foods contain mainly all-trans-lycopene, but the blood serum lycopene is 60% cis-lycopene which may be more bioavailable. (The product is for research purpose only.)
