Condensing Agent

Experimental procedure: To 0.5 mmol of Fmoc-Phe-OH and 0.5 mmol of H-Ala-OMe·HCl dissolved in a mixture of 10 mL of CH2Cl2 and 1.5 mmol of Na2CO3 in H2O (5 mL) is added a solution of TFFH (0.75 mmol) in 5 mL of CH2Cl2 and the reaction mixture is stirred at room temperature for 1 h. An excess of CH2Cl2 is added and the organic layer is separated, washed with H2O, brine and dried (MgSO4). Removal of the solvent with a rotary evaporator gives the dipeptide 1 in 87% yield as a white solid.
