Tinoridine Hydrochloride: A Nonsteroidal Anti-Inflammatory Agent with a Stabilizing Action on Lysosomes
Tinoridine hydrochloride (Y-3642 hydrochloride) is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory and analgesic agent, and also is a potent radical scavenger. It has been reported that tinoridine has a different mechanism of action than common nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), which act by inhibiting the cyclooxygenase enzyme and thereby inhibit the synthesis of prostaglandins. The action is attributed to its bio-membrane stabilizing action particularly on the lysosomes which are related to cell or tissue damage at the time of inflammation through the release of hydrolytic enzymes. (The product is for research purpose only.)
