Calcitonin: A 32 Amino Acid Peptide Hormone with the Activity of Inhibiting Osteoclast
Calcitonin is a 32 amino acid peptide hormone, which has been found in fish, reptiles, birds, and mammals. It is a powerful inhibitor of osteoclast activity that exerts a rapid, transient, and reversible inhibition of bone resorption.
