Application
Anandamide: An Endogenous Agonist of CB1 and CB2 Receptors
Anandamide (Arachidonoyl Ethanolamide: AEA) is the N-acyl ethanolamide of arachidonic acid, originally isolated from porcine brain.1) AEA is an endocannabinoid that has been reported to act as an endogenous agonist of CB1 and CB2 receptors which are the primary molecular target responsible for the pharmacological effects of Δ9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the psychoactive ingredient in Cannabis sativa. For your reference, the endogenous cannabinoid system (ECS) modulates neuronal and immune cell function, both of which play key roles in pain, therapeutics targeting this system hold promise as novel analgesics.2-5) (The product is for research purpose only.)
