Grela 等人开发出的AquaMet是一种Hoveyda-型复分解催化剂，其含有一个季铵盐官能团，因此适用于水相体系。AquaMet催化剂可以应用于Z-型烯烃或端烯的分子间复分解反应，从而合成出相应的E-型烯烃。同样的，1,6-二烯或烯炔也可以通过关环复分解得到中等产率的环烯1)。 另外，借助季铵盐基团和二氧化硅的亲核性，AquaMet还可以负载在介孔氧化硅上用作载体催化剂2)。
