一种温和有用的亲电碘化试剂
Pyridine iodine monochloride(PyICI)是一种淡黄色的固体，可以被用作亲电碘化试剂。虽然一氯化碘在室温下是一种低熔点的固体，而PyICI是一种有着熔点超过100℃的固体化合物，它卓越的性能使之使用起来非常容易。此外，普通的亲电碘化试剂如Barluenga reagent(IPy2BF4)在过量的酸存在下才能完成碘化反应。在使用PyICI 作为碘化试剂时是不需要酸的，甲酰基或乙酰基取代的苯酚类和苯胺类化合物在几近中性的条件下便可发生邻-对位选择性碘化反应。如上所述，PyICI有望被作为一种反应条件温和且有效的亲电碘化试剂被人们所使用。
