Zero-valent Palladium Complex Effective for the Copper-free Sonogashira Coupling
Experimental procedure: A vessel is charged with Cs2CO3 (2 mmol, 648 mg), Bis[di-tert-butyl(4-dimethylaminophenyl)phosphine]palladium(0) (0.5 - 1.5 mol%), followed by aryl chloride (1 mmol), CH3CN (1.5 mL) under nitrogen atmosphere. The respective alkyne (1.2 eq.) is injected into the tube. The reaction is heated to 90 - 105 °C under stirring for 4 - 7 h. Products are purified by flash chromatography (hexanes:ethyl acetate) to give the corresponding alkyne.
