Application
Iniparib: A Compound once thought to be a PARP Inhibitor
Poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP) is a critical enzyme involved in a number of cellular processes including DNA repair, genomic stability and programmed cell death. Inhibition of PARP enzymes has been reported as a potential therapeutic strategy in cancers with specific DNA repair defects.1) Iniparib was originally discovered as a PARP-1 inhibitor for the treatment of triple-negative breast cancer. However, recent studies indicate that iniparib is not a PARP-1 inhibitor.1-4) (The product is for research purpose only.)
