Application
HPLC Labeling Reagent for Amines and Alcohols
The compound 1 is an HPLC fluorescence labeling reagent, which easily reacts with amino groups and hydroxyl groups to form the corresponding amides and esters, respectively. These derivatives are stable for at least 24 h at room temperature, and can reach the detector without any decomposition under reversed phase HPLC. Each derivative can be separated with ODS columns, and the detection limits (S/N = 3) are from 0.6 to 5.2 fmol / 5 µL injection1). 1 is used for the quantitative analysis of methamphetamine and the derivatives in hair3), which is known to preserve drugs for a long term, as well as in urine1,2).
Application example:
[Quantitative analysis for methamphetamine analogs] 2)
10 µL of urine collected from a methamphetamine addict and 10 µL of acetic acid are put into an amber-glass vial and dried under a flow of nitrogen. 10 µL of carbonate buffer solution and 190 µL of 100 µM labeling reagent 1 / acetone solution are added to the residue, reacted at room temperature for 10 min. Use it as an HPLC sample solution.
