Application
N4-Hydroxycytidine: A Potent and Selective Viral RNA-Dependent RNA polymerase (RdRp) Inhibitor
N4-Hydroxycytidine (EIDD-1931), an antiviral ribonucleoside analog, is an active metabolite of molnupiravir which has activity against a number of RNA viruses.1,2) The RNA-dependent RNA polymerase (RdRp) is the key enzyme responsible for RNA virus replication processes and catalyzes the replication of RNA from an RNA template.3) Because of this, they are often recognized as good targets for antiviral agents. It has been reported that N4-hydroxycytidine acts as a viral RdRp inhibitor of RNA viruses.1,4,5) (The product is for research purpose only.)
