Application
Capsazepine: A Competitive Antagonist of TRPV1
Capsazepine is a synthetic analog of capsaicin [M1149] [M0900] that can act as a competitive antagonist of transient receptor potential vanilloid 1 (TRPV1), a non-selective cation channel that can be activated by a variety of exogenous and endogenous physical and chemical stimuli.1-3) Recently, capsazepine has been reported to exhibit pleiotropic anticancer effects as an apoptosis inducer against numerous tumor cell lines.4) (The product is for research purpose only.)
