Alexidine Dihydrochloride: A Cationic Bis(Biguanide) Antimicrobial Agent
Alexidine dihydrochloride is a cationic bis(biguanide) antimicrobial agent. It has been reported that alexidine binds to lipopolysaccharide and lipoteichoic acid and prevents microbial cell activation.1,2) In addition, alexidine induces apoptosis in cancer cell line, and inhibits the protein tyrosine phosphatase mitochondrion-1 (PTPM1).3,4) (The product is for research purpose only.)
