Perylene Derivative Having n-type Semiconducting Properties
N,N'-Di-n-octyl-3,4,9,10-perylenetetracarboxylic diimide (1) is a perylene derivative showing the character of n-type semiconductors. The organic thin-film transistor (OTFT) as to 1 shows an electron mobility of 0.6 cm2 V-1 s-1 and a current on/off ratio of 1.0 x 105.1-2) Nanowires3) and nanoribbons4) synthesized by a solution-phase process of 1, are used for fabrications of complementary logic circuits and organic photovoltaic cells through a spin-coating process.
