Application
Ribostamycin Sulfate: A Broad-Spectrum Aminoglycoside Antibiotic
Ribostamycin sulfate (SF-733) is a broad-spectrum aminoglycoside antibiotic isolated from Streptomyces ribosifidicus. It has activity against both Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria but has no activity against yeasts or fungi. Ribostamycin irreversibly binds to the 30S subunit (16S rRNA) of the bacterial ribosome as with any other aminoglycoside antibiotics, and then it inhibits bacterial growth by inhibiting protein synthesis. (The product is for research purpose only.)
