Application
Gadobutrol: A Paramagnetic Macrocyclic Contrast Agent for MRI
Gadobutrol, gadolinium complex, is a paramagnetic macrocyclic contrast agent used for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Contrast-enhanced MRI has become a mainstay of imaging with unlimited applications. In a magnetic field, gadobutrol shortens the T1 (spin-lattice or longitudinal) relaxation times, which improves MR image quality. Gadobutrol is often used as an aqueous solution (1 mmol/mL) mixed with calcobutrol sodium, tris(hydroxymethyl)aminomethane (another name: trometamol) and hydrochloric acid (for pH adjustment). (The product is for research purpose only.)
