Previously this product had been labeled as a hydrate form both in product name and molecular formula. The hydrate form had no exclusive CAS RN and used to share the same CAS RN as the anhydrous form.

Berberine Sulfate: An Isoquinoline Alkaloid with Multispectrum Activities
Berberine sulfate is an isoquinoline alkaloid extracted from many plants as with berberine chloride [B0450], another formulation. Recent pharmacological studies on berberine sulfate have revealed its various pharmacological activities, including antimicrobial1) and antineoplastic properties2). In addition, a comparative study of the dissolution properties of berberine in hydrochloride, sulfate and iodide salts has been reported3). (The product is for research purpose only.)
