A Convenient Activating Reagent of Carboxylic Acids
Bis(pentafluorophenyl) carbonate is a convenient activating reagent of carboxylic acid. Sanders et al. have reported the convenient synthesis of esters and amides using this reagent. In this reaction, the highly reactive pentafluorophenyl ester intermediates react with various alcohols and amines to give the corresponding esters and amides. This synthetic method needs fewer additives and makes it possible to avoid troublesome procedures.
