How to Open Ampule Containers
Please open the ampule container following the steps below in order to use the reagent safely.
TCI has three types of ampule containers.

- Ampules without a Colored Dot or Cutting Line

How to Open Ampules with a Colored Dot
1. Tap the head or tilt the ampule slowly to drop the chemical liquid into the body if it is in the head.
Note: Please be sure to confirm that the chemical liquid is not in the head before opening the ampule.
2. Hold the body of the ampule facing the colored dot (the side of the crack on the neck part).
Note: Please be sure to confirm that the chemical liquid is not in the head before opening the ampule.

3. Put the thumb of your dominant hand a little above the colored dot, and hold tight on the opposite side with your forefinger.
4. Snap the head of the ampule by pushing to the opposite side.
Note: Broken edges are sharp! Take care when handling.
Undesirable Cutting Method
Part of head or neck might be damaged if you cut the ampule like in the following cases.
- When holding away from colored dot
- When not facing the colored dot
- When opening with one hand
The Opening Method for Ampules with a Cutting Line
1. Tap the head or tilt the ampule slowly to drop the chemical liquid into the body if it is in the head part.
Note: Please be sure to confirm that the chemical liquid is not on the head before opening the ampule.
2. Hold the body of the ampule with facing the side of the crack on the neck part.
Note: Please be sure to confirm that the chemical liquid is not on the head before opening the ampule.

3. Snap off the head of the ampule by bending.
Note: You can cut off from anywhere since the ampule has the cutting line around the neck.
The Opening Method for Ampules without a Colored Dot or Cutting Line
1. Tap the head or tilt the ampule slowly to drop the chemical liquid into the body if it is in the head part.
Note: Please be sure to confirm that the chemical liquid is not in the head before opening the ampule.
2. Make a crack around the neck of the ampule using an ampule cutter or emery paper.
Note: Please be careful not to break the ampule by making the crack too strongly.
3. Cut off the ampule with your dominant hand holding the body (similar to the steps 2-3 on "Opening Method for Ampules with a Cutting Line" above).
Note: There is the case that the ampule might not cut off clearly because of the crack. Please be careful not to get injured.
Note: Please be sure to confirm that the chemical liquid is not in the head before opening the ampule.
2. Make a crack around the neck of the ampule using an ampule cutter or emery paper.
Note: Please be careful not to break the ampule by making the crack too strongly.
3. Cut off the ampule with your dominant hand holding the body (similar to the steps 2-3 on "Opening Method for Ampules with a Cutting Line" above).
Note: There is the case that the ampule might not cut off clearly because of the crack. Please be careful not to get injured.
