Application
Abiraterone: A Selective Inhibitor of the Steroidogenic Enzyme Cytochrome P450 17A1 (CYP17A1)
Abiraterone is a selective inhibitor of the steroidogenic enzyme cytochrome P450 17A1 (CYP17A1) which catalyzes two key serial reactions (17α-hydroxylase hydroxylase and 17,20-lyase) in androgen and estrogen biosynthesis. Abiraterone acetate [A2891] (of which the active metabolite is abiraterone) is an agent used in combination with prednisone [P1276] in metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC). (The product is for research purpose only.)
