(+)-Limonene: A Monocyclic Monoterpene with Anticancer, Anti-Microbial and Anti-Inflammatory Activities.
(+)-Limonene is a monocyclic monoterpene that has been found in various plant oil citrus fruit peel as the fragrance of oranges. It is the D-isomer or (R)-enantiomer of (±)-limonene [L0046]. It is used as a flavoring compound, and has been reported to have diverse biological activities, including anticancer,1,2) anti-microbial3) and anti-inflammatory4) activities.
