Ipragliflozin: A Selective SGLT2 Inhibitor
Sodium glucose cotransporters (SGLTs) are proteins that occur primarily in the kidneys and play an important role in maintaining glucose balance in the blood.1) SGLT1 and SGLT2 are the two well-known SGLTs of this family. SGLT2 plays a key role in glucose reuptake in the proximal tubule of the kidney. Ipragliflozin is a selective SGLT2 inhibitor that improves glycemic control with diabetes by preventing glucose from being reabsorbed through SGLT2 and entering circulation again.2,3) For your reference, our product [B7018] is a key synthetic intermediate of ipragliflozin. (The product is for research use only.)
