N6-Isopentenyladenosine (i6A): A Bioactive Base-Modified Ribonucleoside at a Specific Position of tRNA
N6-Isopentenyladenosine (i6A) is one of the longest known base-modified ribonucleoside and occurs only at a specific position in tRNA found in bacteria and eukaryotes. It has pronounced cytokinin activity in several plant tissues, high anticancer activity in a wide range of cell lines, and exhibits pronounced antiviral activity including SARS-CoV-2.1-4) In addition, the role of N6-isopentenyladenosine in a subset of tRNAs in gene expression has been associated with translational fidelity, translation speed, skewed gene expression, and non-sense suppression.4,5) (The product is for research purpose only.)
