E-64d: A Potent and Irreversible Cysteine Protease Inhibitor
Cysteine proteases are enzymes containing nucleophilic cysteine thiol that are important in protein degradation pathway. E-64d (loxistatin) is a cell-permeable ethyl ester of E-64c which is a potent and irreversible cysteine protease inhibitor.
