Application
Camalexin: An Antimicrobial Phytoalexin
Phytoalexins are antimicrobial compounds. They are defensively synthesized de novo by plants in response to pathogen infection. Camalexin is the characteristic phytoalexin of Arabidopsis thaliana that is induced by a wide variety of plant pathogens. In addition to its antimicrobial properties, camalexin exhibits antiproliferative activity in vitro against various cancer cell lines. (The product is for research use only.)
