Coptisine Chloride: A Protoberberine Alkaloid with a Wide Range of Pharmacological and Biological Activities
Coptisine chloride, a protoberberine alkaloid, is widely found in traditional Chinese medicinal plants including Coptis rhizome, Ranunculaceae and Papaveraceae plants. There are reports that coptisine chloride has a wide range of pharmacological and biological activities.1-3) Recently, coptisine chloride has also been attracting attention on its activity against central nervous system disorders, such as improving the symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease.4) (The product is for research purpose only.)
