Cl-IB-MECA: A Selective Antagonist of the Adenosine A3 Receptor
Cl-IB-MECA is a selective antagonist of the adenosine A3 receptor (A3R), which is one of the four subtypes of adenosine receptors (A1R, A2AR, A2BR, and A3R). Cl-IB-MECA is selective for the A3R, displaying 2500 and 1400-fold selectivity over A1R and A2AR, respectively.1) The A3R is the only adenosine subtype to be overexpressed in inflammatory and cancer cells, thus making it a potential target for therapy.2-6) (The product is for research purpose only.)
