Chrysophanic Acid: A Bioactive Anthraquinone Isolated from Plants of the Rheum Genus
Chrysophanic acid, also known as chrysophanol, is a natural anthraquinone isolated from plants of the Rheum genus which is commonly used in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). It has been reported that chrysophanic acid exerts a number of beneficial effects, such as anticancer, hepatoprotective, neuroprotective, anti-inflammatory, antiulcer, antifungal and antimicrobial activities. (The product is for research purpose only.)
