Application
Ubenimex: A Competitive and Reversible Protease Inhibitor
Ubenimex (bestatin) is a dipeptide which was originally isolated from a culture filtrate of Streptomyces olivoreticuli. Ubenimex is a competitive and reversible protease inhibitor. It is an inhibitor of leucine aminopeptidase, aminopeptidase B and triamino peptidase, etc, and has been used as an experimental tool in mammals. Ubenimex is also a leukotriene A4 hydrolase (LTA4H) inhibitor, and reportedly suppress tumorigenesis in this animal model.
