Fluorescent Sialidase Probe Useful for Detecting Influenza Virus
- B6235
- BTP3-Neu5Ac Na (1) (*This product is sold as B6529.)
BTP3-Neu5Ac Na (1) is a fluorescent probe that enables the detection of enzyme activity of an enzyme “sialidase”, which is expressed in influenza virus and the infected cells and catalyzes the removal of sialic acid.1,2) 1 itself doesn’t have fluorescence but releases insoluble BTB3, which is produced by sialidase and emits green fluorescence by UV irradiation. Therefore, selective imaging of drug-resistant influenza viruses is possible when used in combination with 1 and specific sialidase inhibitors, such as zanamivir and oseltamivir.3)
