TCI Materials Science News

November 2023

TCI is at the forefront of offering high-quality materials for R&D. This issue covers our materials science topics as follows:

Organotellurium-Mediated Radical Polymerization (TERP) Reagents

Organotellurium-Mediated Radical Polymerization (TERP) Reagents

Organotellurium-mediated radical polymerization (TERP) is a type of controlled radical polymerization (CRP). Organotellurium compounds are employed as chain transfer agents (CTAs) for TERP. TERP is advantageous for the development of functional polymers due to its wide monomer functional groups scope and the possibility of end group transformations.
TCI offers ethyl 2-methyl-2-(methyltellanyl)propanoate [E1508], 2-methyl-2-(methyltellanyl)propanenitrile [M3520] and methyl 1-phenylethyl telluride [M3521] as CTAs for TERP. Dimethyl ditelluride [D6090] and diphenyl ditelluride [D2718] as additives for TERP are also available.
High Purity Divinylbenzenes

High Purity Divinylbenzenes

TCI offers 1,4-divinylbenzene [D6110] and 1,3-divinylbenzene [D6174] with high purity single regioisomers. Divinylbenzenes are used as crosslinkers of styrene polymers. It has been reported that divinylbenzenes are applied to selective polymerization on one side of vinyl groups. The mesoporosity, surface area, and mesopore size can be tuned by adjusting the ratio of divinylbenzene isomers. Naphthalene Tetracarboxylic Acid Dianhydride Derivatives

Naphthalene Tetracarboxylic Acid Dianhydride Derivatives

Naphthalene tetracarboxylic acid dianhydrides (NTCDAs) are widely used as raw materials for functional materials such as polyimides and organic semiconductors. In addition to the most common 1,4,5,8-NTCDA [N0369] and 1,4,5,8-NTCDA (purified by sublimation) [N0755], TCI offers 2-bromonaphthalene-1,4,5,8-tetracarboxylic dianhydride [B5756], 2,6-dibromonaphthalene-1,4,5,8-tetracarboxylic dianhydride [D4339], 2,3,6,7-NTCDA [N1128] and 1,2,5,6-NTCDA [N1247]. Raw Material for Polyimides and COFs: Mellitic Trianhydride

Raw Material for Polyimides and COFs: Mellitic Trianhydride

Mellitic trianhydride [M3617] can synthesize tri-directionally branched polyimides and COFs by reacting with amine linkers. According to reports, obtained polyimides and COFs have a highly active CO2-capture ability and can be used for visible light redox catalysis.
Product Document Searching Made Easy!

Product Document Searching Made Easy!

We began affixing a 2D code sticker to the top surface of the caps of our product containers.
*Depending on the products, certain items may not contain the sticker.
When the 2D code is scanned by your mobile device, a dedicated web page will open, allowing you to check various documents for the product at hand with a single tap. The information provided will be expanded in the future.
