Glyco Reagents for Prebiotics Research
The prebiotics concept was proposed by British microbiologist Gibson in 1995 as a “non-digestible food ingredient that beneficially affects the host by selectively stimulating the growth and/or activity of one or a limited number of bacteria already resident in the colon”. In recent years, a number of fermentable carbohydrates have been reported to show a prebiotic effect. These include non-digestible oligosaccharides, polysaccharides, and dietary fibers, and some of them are known as ingredients involved. Various effects of prebiotics have been reported, such as the growth of beneficial bacteria in the intestine, intestinal function, enhance immune function, prevent allergic conditions, increase of mineral absorption, anti-tumor, anti-obesity, and prevention of arteriosclerosis. TCI offers milk oligosaccharides (MO) such as galacto-N-biose [G0439], xylo-oligosaccharides such as xylobiose [X0067], polysaccharides such as dextrin [D4657], monosaccharides such as D-tagatose [T1501] and more.
RNA Staining Reagent: T-Fluor 480
With the improvement of analytical techniques at the single molecule and single cell level, and because RNA is sometimes a target for nucleic acid drugs, RNA imaging has become a very important tool in molecular biology and drug discovery research. TCI offers T-Fluor 480 [T4072], a RNA staining reagent for RNA imaging. T-Fluor 480 stains RNA in bacteria. RNA stained with T-Fluor 480 has very high fluorescence intensity (λex, max = 450 nm, λem, max = 485 nm). The signal can be observed without washing. In addition, T-Fluor 480 has passed in-house testing for RNA staining.
Gel Negative-Staining Kit for Rapid and Highly Sensitive Protein Detection
Detecting protein bands in a polyacrylamide gel after electrophoresis requires the gel to be stained. Common staining methods include Coomassie Brilliant Blue staining, silver staining, fluorescence staining, and negative staining. Negative staining is a method in which only regions of gel containing protein remain unstained, while the remainder of the gel is stained white. Bands can be visualized by placing the gel against a dark background. Gel Negative Stain kit [G0615] can be used to detect protein bands with high sensitivity in as little as 20 minutes. Furthermore, stained gels can easily be destained using the included destaining solution, with the destained gel is able to be used in further downstream applications, such as Western blotting and mass spectrometry.
Inhibitors of Lysine-specific Demethylases (LSDs)
LSD (lysine specific demethylase) is an enzyme which uses FAD (flavin adenine dinucleotide) as a coenzyme to demethylate methylated lysine in histone proteins. LSD has two isoforms (LSD1, LSD2). LSD1 is expected to be a therapeutic target for cancer, while LSD2 has numerous unknown functions and is currently under research to elucidate its function. LSD Inhibitor S1024 [B6490] and LSD Inhibitor S1025 [B6491] exhibit equally potent inhibitory activity against LSD1 and different inhibitory activity against LSD2. LSD Inhibitor S1024 is also known to increase intracellular histone-modified H3K4me2 through its inhibitory effect. In addition, LSD Inhibitor S1024 and LSD Inhibitor S1025 can be used for the research to elucidate the function of LSD2 taking advantage of the gap of their activity.Upcoming Events
