TCI Life Science News

August 2022

At TCI, we support discovery in life sciences through our knowledge and expertise in organic small molecules. This issue covers our life science topics as follows.

Bioimaging Reagents

Bioimaging Reagents

Imaging is an indispensable experimental technique for observing and analyzing biological phenomena. TCI offers a wide range of reagents from highly versatile fluorescent labeled probes to clearing reagents for animals and plants such as, fluorescent dye-labeled secondary antibodies, lipid droplet staining dyes, cyanine dyes, and plant tissue-clearing reagents are available. Carbohydrate-Binding Proteins: Anti-sugar Antibody and Lectin

Carbohydrate-Binding Proteins: Anti-sugar Antibody and Lectin

Most carbohydrate chains attach to lipids or proteins and occur in the form of glycoproteins or glycolipids (N-glycan, O-glycan, proteoglycans and others). Carbohydrate chains are known to be expressed on brain, nerve, cancer, and endothelial cells. Some carbohydrate chains are known to relate to diseases (e.g., cancer, Alzheimer's disease, Guillain-Barré syndrome, Lysosome syndrome such as Fabry disease, gangliosidosis), differentiation and development (iPS/ES cells). TCI supports glycoscience research by providing useful anti-sugar antibodies and lectins . Pseudouridines: Key Component of mRNA Medicine

Pseudouridines: Key Component of mRNA Medicine

Recently, mRNA medicines have received a lot of attention, which generate the specific proteins in the target cells. Application of mRNA medicines are expected for not only vaccine but also protein replacement therapy, regenerative medicine, and gene editing therapy by expression antigens, enzymes, signal proteins and more. In the translation of mRNA into protein in target cell, 1-methylpseudouridine (m1Ψ) [M3387] and pseudouridine (Ψ) [P2939] are read like uridine (U), enhancing immune evasion and protein production. TCI offers 1-methylpseudouridine and pseudouridine by chemical synthesis, and can also supply these products in bulk quantities or synthesize the derivatives. Buffer and Additives for LC Analysis of Oligonucleotides

Buffer and Additives for LC Analysis of Oligonucleotides

Triethylammonium acetate solution is broadly utilized as an RP-HPLC buffer for the purification/analysis of oligonucleotides. It is also known that triethylamine/HFIP buffer improves ESI sensitivity in the detection of oligonucleotide LC-MS analysis. TCI guarantees, that for triethylammonium acetate solution [T4022], triethylamine [T4021] and HFIP [H1793] no UV absorption occurs in the analytical range of oligonucleotide. The suitable buffer solutions can be prepared by diluting T4022 or mixing the required amount of T4021 and H1793, respectively. » TCI eNewsletter Back Issues
