BioconjugationBioconjugation has steadily gained importance in biochemical research. Bioconjugates are frequently used to develop new methods, for example in drug discovery, ligand binding assays, disease diagnosis, and high-throughput screening. There have been many recent reports of the chemical modification of biomolecules with non-natural bioorthogonal functional groups such as azide.

Antitumor Molecular-targeted AgentsMany past antitumor agents have predominately operated as non-specific cytotoxic tubulin inhibitors which were successful but have suffered from numerous drawbacks stemming from this non-specificity. Modern antitumor agents such as imatinib [I0906] and regorafenib [R0142] sought to improve upon these limitations by functioning as targeted kinase inhibitors and have improved side effect profiles and pose less danger compared to tubulin inhibitors. Thalidomide [T2524] and pomalidomide [P2074] have recently been shown to possess antitumor activities through its vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) inhibition. TCI provides high quality pharmaceutical reagents for research and biomedical applications.

PhospholipidsPhospholipids are phosphoric acid esters of fatty acid, which are major components of all cell membranes. It is well known that the thin polar cell membrane is made of two phospholipid layers (lipid bilayers) due to their amphiphilic property. As an example of lipid bilayers, liposomes have a capsule structure which can contain small amounts of other molecules. Liposomes consisting of phospholipids such as DMPC [D3924], DSPE [D4214] and DOPG Sodium Salt [D5318] can be applied to controlled release dosage, drug delivery systems, and cosmetics.

PolyaminesPolyamines are organic compounds having at least two amino groups as part of an otherwise aliphatic chain. The amino groups are usually separated by three or four methylene units, such as putrescine [D0239], cadaverine [D0108], spermidine [S0068] and spermine [S0069]. The polyamines are essential molecules in both eukaryotic and prokaryotic cells, and, therefore, have been isolated from all kinds of living organisms, including humans. Dysregulation in the polyamine metabolism has been associated with cancer and some polyamines can induce neurotoxicity. Thus, polyamines remain an attractive area of disease study.
