The ketoiminato cobalt(II) complexes 1 and 2 developed by Mukaiyama, Yamada and co-workers are utilized for catalytic asymmetric reductions. The asymmetric reduction using 1 and 2 can use sodium borohydride, a widely used reducing agent.
