Application
Peiminine: A Bioactive Alkaloid with Antitussive, Expectorant and Anti-Inflammatory Activities
Peiminine (verticinone) and peimine (verticine) [P2610] are major active alkaloids isolated from the bulbs of Fritillaria ussuriensis, which is an Asian species of herbaceous plant in the lily family and a commonly used antitussive traditional Chinese medicinal (TCM) herb.1,2) It has been reported that peiminine and peimine also exhibit potent antitussive, expectorant and anti-inflammatory effects.3) In addition, peiminine can induce cancer cell apoptosis and autophagy.4,5) (The product is for research purpose only.)
