Application
Gemifloxacin Mesylate: An Orally Active Broad-Spectrum Respiratory Quinolone Antibiotic
Gemifloxacin mesylate (LB20304) is an orally active broad-spectrum fluoroquinolone antibiotic. Fluoroquinolones, including gemifloxacin, inhibit DNA synthesis by inhibiting DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV activities.1-3) The newest fluoroquinolones, such as gemifloxacin, gatifloxacin [G0627] and moxifloxacin [M2479], are known to have excellent in vitro activity against a wide range of respiratory pathogens and many aerobic Gram-negative organisms.3) (The product is for research purpose only.)
