Application
Enalapril Maleate: An Angiotensin-Converting Enzyme Inhibitor (ACEI)
Enalapril maleate is an angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor (ACEI) without a mercapto group, used in the treatment of hypertension. Enalapril is a prodrug which is hydrolysed by various esterases in the host's liver to form the ACEI, enalaprilat [E1302]. Enalapril increases plasma renin activity (PRA) and decreases plasma concentrations of angiotensin II and aldosterone. (The product is for research purpose only.)
