Calcifediol: A Provitamin of the Biologically Active form of Vitamine D3, Calcitriol
Calcifediol (25-hydroxyvitamin D3) is a provitamin or a storage form of the biologically active form of vitamine D3, calcitriol (1,25-dihydroxycholecalciferol) [C3078]. Calcifediol is converted to calcitriol performed by enzymes, primarily in the kidney. Therefore, measurement of plasma calcifediol concentration is a useful index of overall body stores of vitamin D. (The product is for research purpose only.)
