PhenoFluor™ Mix and AlkylFluor™: Stable Reagents for Deoxyfluorinations
PhenoFluor™ Mix (1) and AlkylFluor™ (2), developed by the Ritter group, are utilized as deoxyfluorinating reagents. The reagents 1 and 2 are used on aromatic hydroxyl groups1) and aliphatic hydroxyl groups2) respectively to give the corresponding fluorides. These reagents are less reactive to moisture and more stable in air than conventional deoxyfluorinating reagents, lending to easier handling and use. Fluorination is one of the most important reaction in medicinal chemical research, and these reagents are expected garner more use in the future.
