Rhynchophylline: an Antihypertensive and Neuroprotective Alkaloid
Rhynchophylline is major tetracyclic oxindole alkaloid components of Uncaria species. Rhynchophylline has drawn extensive attention in recent years for its antihypertensive and neuroprotective activities. The active mechanisms would be related to blocking of calcium channel, opening of potassium channel, and regulating of nerve transmitters transport and metabolism, etc.
