Highly Effective Brominating Reagent (DBI)
Highly Effective Brominating Reagent (DBI)
Dibromoisocyanuric Acid (DBI), which was first reported by Gottardi, is a powerful brominating reagent. Its brominating ability is higher than other existing brominating reagents, such as NBS. The use of DBI enables it to effectively add bromine atoms to the rings of electron–deficient aromatics, such as nitrobenzene.
