Application
N2-Methylguanosine: A Modified Nucleoside Found in the tRNA of Nearly All Archaea and Eukaryotes
N2-Methylguanosine (m2G) is a modified nucleoside found in the tRNA of nearly all archaea and eukaryotes but not in bacteria. It plays crucial roles in the control and stabilization of tRNA.1-3) In addition, it has been reported that some modified nucleosides, including N2-methylguanosine, are excreted in abnormal amounts in the urine of patients with malignancies. Thus, the modified nucleosides may be useful tumor markers.4,5)
