Description
- The DAPI is a fluorescent stain for labeling DNA.
DNA-bound DAPI is readily excited with UV light and emits fluorescence in the blue region of the visible light spectrum (Excitation : 358 nm / Emission : 461 nm).
Description for Use
- Fluorescence Staining of Cell Nucleus
- Fix and permeabilize cells as desired.
- Dilute DAPI solution 1/1000 (*) with PBS or an appropriate buffer.
*Typical working concentration used in most applications is 0.1 μg/mL - 10 μg/mL. - Incubate with cells at room temperature for 5-20 minutes (**).
**Extend Incubate time as desired. - Mount sample with an appropriate medium and proceed to imaging.
Storage
- Store at -20 °C for long term storage. It may be kept at 4 °C for short term storage. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing. This product is photosensitive and should be protected from light.
